A stage reading of the Persian translation of the play “Who Is Afraid of Virginia Woolf” written by American playwright Edward Albee (1928-2016) has been set for June 11 at Mashayekhi Theater House in Tehran.
Albee’s play was translated into Persian by Siamak Golshiri in 2005. In three acts, the piece navigates the complexities of the marriage of a middle-aged couple, Martha and George. Late one evening, after a university party, they receive an unwitting younger couple, Nick and Honey, as guests, and draw them into their bitter and frustrated relationship.
