Photos of Bushehr

Among the recently published books of Tehran-based publication Cheshmeh is a photography book containing photos taken by prominent photographer Bahman Jalali. 

Titled “Bushehr,” the book is in 102 pages. It includes photos Jalali took from areas around the southwestern port of Bushehr in Bushehr Province during his 40-year career, ISNA reported on its Persian website.  

Jalali (1944-2010) graduated with a degree in economics from Shahid Beheshti University of Tehran. He started his career as a photographer by working for Tamasha magazine in 1972. In 1974 he joined the Royal Photographic Society in the UK.

He is best known for his documentary photos from the 1979 Islamic Revolution  and the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war. He was a founding member and curator of the Museum of Photography in Tehran, which is Iran’s first photo museum.

Besides holding exhibitions in Iran, Jalali also organized shows in Germany, Czech Republic, Finland, France and Hungary.
