Visual artist Dariush Nahdaran is displaying his collection of photos and video installations at Elga Wimmer Gallery in New York. Seven photography collections and video installations on display by the San Francisco-based artist were created during 14 years of his career, Honaronline reported on its Persian website. The exhibition titled “Amphibology, an Anthology of Photographs” will run until May 23. “I never have a boring moment, I usually surprise myself with my work and try to create the same experience for others,” the 34-year-old artist said. “The photos invite visitors to view a very physical world, apart from its aesthetic specialty. Each photo is a symbol of a vague feeling and uncertainty that keeps the visitors in limbo,” Maryam Ekhtiyar, Islamic Art expert in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, described the artist’s work. Born in Isfahan, Nahdaran has held solo and group exhibitions in Iran, the UAE, Qatar, France and the US. His works are kept in public and private collections worldwide including in Amando Reverón Contemporary Art museum in Caracas, Venezuela, Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Salsali Private Museum in Dubai. He is the recipient of awards from Nikon International Photo Contest in Japan and the 7th Image of the Year Festival in Iran among others.
