The directorial debut of Navid Mahmoudi’s ‘Parting’ is on the screen at selected cinemas.
An Afghan-Iranian film made in 2016, it is set almost entirely in Tehran and is about two young Afghan immigrants in love, Fereshteh and Nabi, Cinematicket.com wrote.
The film begins with Nabi’s struggle to cross Iran’s border illegally to reunite with Fereshteh who had left her homeland four years earlier with her family to take refuge in Iran. When the two finally meet, they decide to migrate to Europe through Turkey with the dream of having a better life there.
The cast includes Reza Ahmadi, Fereshteh Hosseini, Behrang Alavi, Nazanin Bayati, Masoud Mirtaheri and Sina Soheili among others.
