Lake Shourmast

Despite its small size, Lake Shourmast is among the most notable attractions of Savadkouh County in northern Mazandaran Province. Gando Tours is taking nature enthusiasts to see the lake and walk in the surrounding forests.  Those interested should rise on Thursday and be ready by 5 am on the eastern flank of 7-Tir Square in central Tehran. They should bring ID cards, trekking shoes, sufficient clothes, water, one light meal and patience for the heavy traffic (Thursday and Friday are weekends in Iran) on the road to the north.
Shourmast is surrounded by towering alder trees. In the vicinity of the lake are several historical and religious attractions, including the Veresk Bridge, Lajim Tower and Abdolhaq Shrine. Since the tour is planned on a weekend and a camping season, visitors will surely find the lakeside dotted with colorful tents of eco-tourists.
