The play “A Streetcar Named Desire” written by American playwright Tennessee Williams is underway at Mashayekhi Theater House in central Tehran.
Directed by Mehdi Asgharian, the play follows a troubled former schoolteacher as she leaves Mississippi and moves in with her sister and her husband in New Orleans. But her presence causes problems for the couple. Director Asgharian has a role in the play along with Bahar Moeenfar, Fariba Shafeqati, Amir Bashireh-Nejad and Babak Sang-Sefidi, Tiwall wrote.
The play will be on stage until May 17. The theater is at No. 1478, at the intersection of Valiasr and Enqelab streets.
