A concert for santur enthusiasts is slated for May 15 at Roudaki Hall.
It will feature a trio of notable santur players who are to perform pieces of traditional Iranian music.
Composer and santur instructor Mahyar Tarihi, 33, is one the participants. He started playing the hammered dulcimer when he was six. Another santur player is Siavash Kamkar, 29, the youngest member of Kamkar clan, the prominent and popular Kurdish ensemble. Pouya Saraee, 35, is the third player who has been practicing santur since the age of seven. He’s a prolific artist composing, arranging, conducting, teaching and researching music.
