Aradman Publication has unveiled the Persian translation of A Family Supper, a collection of short stories by Japanese-British writer and Nobel laureate Kazuo Ishiguro at Tehran International Book Fair underway at Imam Khomeini Mosalla.

According to Honaronline, the book is rendered by Asadollah Haqani. One of the short stories in the book is about a nameless Japanese man who returns home to visit his father and sister in Tokyo after living in California. The family sits down to enjoy dinner together, reminisce and talk about their evolving lives and plans for the future.

The main themes of the story are death, suicide, spirituality, memory, the past, family, estrangement, loneliness and generational shift. It examines the ways in which people fulfill their lives with family, relationships and work and the emptiness that follows when these things exist no more.

Ishiguro is the author of renowned prize-winning novels such as The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go.
