The Greek tragedy by Sophocles (497-406 BC) Antigone went on stage at Iranshahr Theater on May 6.
Saber Abar performs the play alongside Naval Sharifi and French actress Nathalie Matti, Honaronline reported.
The play, directed by Ali Razi, is part of ‘Theban Plays’ trilogy written in 442 BC by Greek playwright Sophocles.
It is about the aftermath of a civil war in which the two sons of King Oedipus, Eteocles and Polyneices, kill each other, and the new king, their successor Creon, tries to punish Polyneices for his disloyalty by not burying him properly. However, Antigone, daughter of Oedipus, buries the corpse of his brother Polyneices.
