Maktab Tehran Theater House will host a stage reading of two short plays, both written by American playwright Christopher Durang.
Directed by Shiva Ordoei, the one-act plays “Nina in The Morning” and “Funeral Parlor” will be read in English. The event is slated for May 12 and will last 50 minutes.
The roles will be read by Manoush Majdzadeh, Shayan Dilmaqani, Morvarid Kavousi, Yasaman Hosseini and Mehrdad Tahmasbi, Tiwall wrote.
“Nina in the Morning” is a funny play about an extremely wealthy, narcissistic woman named Nina who has three children, two of whom want to kill her. In “Funeral Parlor”, Susan, a mourning widow, is talking to some people standing in a queue offering their condolences. At the end of the queue is a man, whom Susan does not recognize, with a flowery outfit, unsuitable for such a ceremony. When his turn comes, he gets into a rather weird conversation with the widow.
The theater house is located at No. 8, Keyvan Alley, Azodi Street on Karimkhan Avenue.
