Winner of the second edition of Iran’s Building of the Year was announced in a ceremony held at Niavaran Cultural/Historical Complex, north of Tehran, on April 25 and Kaboutar (pigeon) Residential House emerged as the winner.
This year, some 25 projects were submitted to the event’s secretariat in Tehran, from which the jury first selected 17 works for the competition and later shortlisted seven projects, Honaronline reported.
The award was handed to the owner of Kaboutar Residential Building, Parvin-Taj Arasteh-Kermani, in the presence of the prominent architects, including the designer of Takhti Stadium in Tehran, Jahangir Darvish.
Kaboutar Building, located in Lavasanat District, northeast of Tehran, was designed by Fatourechiani Architecture Office, co-founded by Majid and Hamid Fatourehchiani and Rouhollah Kashmiri.
