“Diabolic: Romeo and Juliet”, a well-received theatrical work directed by actor and director Atila Pesyani, has set a record as the most viewed play ever staged at Tehran’s Iranshahr Theater. Performed from April 4-27, the work had 44 performances, two each night, and attracted a total of 14,193 viewers, Honaronline reported.  The theatrical work, a loose adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy “Romeo and Juliet”, is written by prolific Iranian playwright Mohammad Charmshir. The piece was previously performed at Iranshahr in 2016 and brought Fatemeh Naqavi the best actress award at the 35th Fajr International Theater Festival last year.
