Risbaf Textile Spinning Mill, said to be a valuable industrial heritage of Isfahan, capital of Isfahan Province, is set up for renovation and change of use.
The mill was built in 1932 over a 7-hectare area. It started production two years later and was up and running until 1951 before mounting financial problems led to its closure in 2001.
In the spring of 2015, the ownership of the barren mill was passed from Bank Melli to the Ministry of Road and Urban Development which is planning to revitalize this large property on Chahar-Bagh Avenue, Honaronline reported.
The ministry initially wanted to only build a museum. But the large premises of Risbaf Mill created the idea that it can also be used for other purposes such as recreation, cultural programs and a tourist attraction.
