Newly established Shahrak Cineplex in Tehran will host a ceremony on Friday to honor the veteran actor Mohammad-Ali Keshavarz on the occasion of his 88th birthday. Amir-Pedram Alizadeh, the owner of the cineplex, told IRNA that auditorium No. 1 of the venue is to be named in honor of the actor at the event to commend his lifetime artistic career. Born in Isfahan, Keshavarz graduated from the Dramatic Arts Faculty (currently Cinema and Theater Faculty) of University of Tehran in acting. He started professional acting in plays and drama in 1960. During his 50-year plus career, he has appeared in a good number of TV series, films and plays. His performances in plays ‘Uncle Vanya’, ‘Antigone’, and ‘Play Strindberg’, movies like ‘Mother’, ‘Del Shodegan’ (Love-Stricken), and ‘Kamal-ol-Molk’ and series such as ‘Hezar Dastan’ (Nightingale), ‘Pedar Salar’ (Patriarch), and ‘Kohneh Savar’ will always be remembered.
