Oliver Stone to Attend FIFF

Distinguished American director and screenwriter Oliver Stone will attend the 36th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran as a special guest.

"Oliver Stone, the prominent filmmaker, is our special guest. He has expressed willingness to take part in a workshop on the sideline of the festival. We have organized a big program for him, including meetings with filmmakers and master classes among others," Reza Mirkarimi, secretary of the festival, said at a press conference on Wednesday at Tehran's Charsou Cineplex that will host the festival April 19-27.

Stone, 71, has become known as a master of controversial subjects and a legendary filmmaker. His films are filled with a variety of angles and styles, he pushes his actors to give Oscar-worthy performances.

The three-times Oscar winner, Stone is best known for the hit films 'Platoon', 'Born on the Fourth of July', 'JFK', 'Snowden' and 'Natural Born Killers'. He also wrote the script for the acclaimed gangster movie 'Scarface'.
