Persepolis and Pasargadae

Arand Tour is going to show some key attractions of Shiraz, capital of Fars Province.

From April 11-14, a tour is planned in the tourist city that will include visits to the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Persepolis and Pasargadae.

The group will leave Tehran by train on April 11, 4 pm. In Shiraz, they will stay at a 3-star hotel.

A good part of the first day will be spent to see the historical site of Persepolis, the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid empire. The world heritage center is built on an immense half-artificial, half natural terrace where Achaemenid kings created an impressive palace complex inspired by Mesopotamian models.

The mausoleum of Cyrus the Great, another remnant of the Achaemenid Empire, is on the itinerary along with the Naqsh-e Rustam, an ancient necropolis 12km northwest of Persepolis. All the sites are located outside Shiraz.

Tourists will also visit historical towns and tombs of celebrated Persian poets Hafez and Sa’di, the Qur’an Gate, Eram Garden, Nasir-ol-Molk and Atiq mosques and other historical mansions and edifices.
