Paintings by Self-Taught Artist and Son on Show

Farda Art Gallery in Tehran is displaying a selection of paintings by renowned self-taught painter Mokarrameh Qanbari (1928-2005) and her son Ali Bolboli.
On display are 20 paintings by Qanbari and 20 by Bolboli. The exhibit opened April 6 and will run through April 19, Mehr News Agency reported.
Qanbari’s paintings at the exhibit have never been put on public display before and show how her works evolved over time.
A number of Qanbari’s double-sided paintings are also on show. They are hung in a series of frames allowing views of both sides.
