Classical cellist and conductor Pejman Memarzadeh, 45, based in France, will be the guest conductor of Tehran Symphony Orchestra in two concerts in Tehran. The concerts are slated for April 19-20 at Vahdat Hall, ISNA reported. The repertoire of the concerts includes ‘Elegie Opus 24’ and ‘Apres un Reve’ (After a Dream), both pieces arranged for cello and orchestra composed by French composer, organist and pianist Gabriel Faure (1845-1924). Symphony No. 2 by French composer, organist, pianist and conductor Camille Saint-Saens (1835-1921) will be performed. Les Preludes, the third symphonic poem of Hungarian pianist and composer Franz Liszt (1811-1886) is also included, as well as the Hungarian March by French composer Hector Berlioz (1803-1869). Memarzadeh, 45, conducted the Tehran Symphony Orchestra at an earlier event in Tehran last spring. Tickets to the concerts are available on the website of Iranconcert.com. Vahdat Hall is located on Shahryar Blvd., Hafez Street, south of Enqelab Avenue.
