Pesyani Will Restage Shakespeare’s Adaptation

Actor and director Atila Pesyani will restage his play ‘Diabolic: Romeo and Juliet’ for a second time after the Norouz (Iranian New Year) holidays (March 21-April 2).
The theatrical work, a loose adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy ‘Romeo and Juliet’, has been written by prolific playwright Mohammad Charmshir. Its performances will commence at Iranshahr Theater Hall on April 9.
First performed at Iranshahr in 2016, the play was warmly received by the audience. Later, it brought Fatemeh Naqavi the best actress award at the 35th Fajr International Theater Festival last year, ISNA reported.
The play’s sound design by Bamdad Afshar was also nominated for the award of Best Sound Design.
