The 7th Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) will host five Iranian short, documentary and feature films.

The Iranian films including the documentary ‘Iranian Ninja’ by Marjan Riahi, short film ‘Najes’ (Untouchable) by Bahran and Bahman Ark, and feature films ‘Today’ by Reza Mirkarimi, ‘We Have a Guest’ by Mohammad-Mehdi Asgarpour, and ‘Bending the Rules’ (Rules of Accident) by Behnam Behzadi will be screened at the Indian festival.

Afghanistan’s ‘A Few Cubic Meters of Love’ directed by Jamshid Mahmoudi, which is now on Iranian cinema screens, will be showcased as the opening film at the festival.

The five-day festival will screen over 150 films in the competition categories. It will also hold 13 workshops and seminars, four special meets and master classes related to films, animation, documentary, and direction.

 Thousand Entries

Filmmakers from Iran, USA, England, Russia, Spain, Nepal, Bhutan, Croatia, South Africa, Bahrin, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, India, etc. have sent 1807 entries to the festival this year.

JIFF is the world’s fastest growing film festival, held every year in the last week of January or February first week in India’s ‘Pink City’ as Jaipur is known, because of the color of the stone exclusively used in its numerous palaces and historical buildings.

The film festival promotes new movie makers, exchange of knowledge, information, ideas and culture between India and other nations in context of their social and cultural ethos. JIFF also promotes friendship and cooperation among peoples of the world through the medium of films & documentaries.

The festival will be held from February 1-5.
