Painter Allahyar Najafi has presented imaginative paintings of urban landscapes in a solo exhibition titled ‘Urban Poetics’ underway at Aaran Art Gallery in Tehran. “Najafi is a poet of cities,” a note on the show says about the artist. “He walks in the streets and offers a fresh representation of the most commonplace instances of everyday life.” Buildings, mechanical tools and organic elements are combined together in the paintings. The artist has placed a variety of layers and elements of urban texture next to one another to create a bigger picture, according to Honaronline. Launched on Friday, the show is to run until March 2 at the venue located at No. 12, Day Alley, North Kheradmand Street, Karim Khan Avenue.
