Vaziri ensemble led by composer and virtuoso of tar and setar Keyvan Saket will stage a performance on March 1 at Vahdat Hall in Tehran.

Traditional vocalist and composer Vahid Taj, 34, will sing at the event whose earnings will be donated to the Tehran-based charity Firouznia for supporting bread-winning women.

After the performance at Vahdat, Saket will go on a tour across Europe, he told Honaronline.

Later in April, he will continue his concerts in Iranian cities including Marvdasht and Shiraz in Fars Province, Rasht in Gilan Province, Mashhad of Khorasan Razavi Province and Hamedan, capital of Hamedan Province.

“For each of the upcoming concerts, we will present a different repertoire, all selected from among my compositions,” Saket said. Among the selected pieces he mentioned ‘Bahar-e Digar’ (another spring) and ‘Afsaneh’ (legend).

Behnam Abolqasem and Soroush Azemikhah will play the piano. Es’haq Chegini plays ney, Mohammad Delnavazi is on oud, Ashkan Moradi on kamancheh, Kiarash Saket and Salar Zamanian on tar, Mehdi Gholami on daf, and Ali-Akbar Khadem plays tonbak.

Saket, 57, founded Vaziri ensemble in 1996. He has written several books on tar and setar, as well as notations on traditional and classical songs.
