Mojdeh Art Gallery in Tehran is hosting a group exhibition by Hampa group of visual artists.

Three calligraphic painters Hadi Roshan-Zamir, 46, Peyman Peyravi, 45, and Ebrahim Olfat, 38, as well as calligrapher Ahmad Mazadi, 46, (all members of Hampa), have presented 25 artworks.

“Most of the featured works are calligraphic paintings on canvas,” Mehr News Agency quoted Mazadi as saying.

“Compared to others in our group, I’ve remained the most loyal to classical and traditional calligraphy. For the present exhibition, I only shifted from paper to canvas; other than the change in material, nothing painterly has happened in my works,” Mazadi said.

In addition to the paintings, Roshan-Zamir has brought out a series of sculptures made with fiberglass, bronze and steel.

Paying homage to renowned sculptor and painter Parviz Tanavoli, and inspired by the master’s ‘Heech’ series, Roshan-Zamir’s sculptures are his own expression of the word ‘Heech’ which means zilch in Persian.

The exhibition will run till February 9. “The event was curated in five months under the supervision of the gallery director Mojdeh Tabatabai,” Roshan-Zamir said.

Mojdeh Gallery is located at No. 27, Eastern 18th St., North Allameh Ave., Sa’adatabad neighborhood.
