Palazzo Riso Museum in Palermo, capital of the Italian island of Sicily, is holding an exhibition dedicated to the artworks of Italy-based Iranian visual artist Bijan Bassiri.

The exhibit encompasses a collection of Bassiri’s plastic works titled ‘Wake’ as well as his collection of sculptures ‘Celestial Body’ which he  created during 1993-2016, Honaronline reported.

“By combining his artistic skills as a contemporary artist with artisans of different Asian or European tradition, Bassiri has been able to merge ancient and classical mythologies with the problems of contemporary times.  He has also conceived authentic plastic inventions with an aesthetic dimension using simple shapes and strong poetic content,” the website of Monacontemporary, an online art gallery in Monaco, wrote about the artist.  Bssiri’s artworks will remain on show at the Sicilian venue until  March 11.
