Short animation ‘Bystander,’ directed by motion graphics artist Sheyda Kashi, has been selected winner of the Best Animation Prize at the 18th ‘Picture This’ Film Festival.
The Canadian festival is an international film festival featuring movies about disability or films on any subject produced, directed or written by people with disabilities.
It announces winners ahead of its opening to help them be present at the event and receive their awards in person. The festival is slated for April 11-14 in Calgary, Canada, Mehr News Agency reported.
Films compete in one of five categories: animation, documentary, drama, education and performance.
Kashi’s 8-minute animation is about an old man who lives behind a window watching a cold, fragile world in black and white. He does not care about the revolution taking place in his country. Looking back he realizes that when he was young he played in active role in another revolution.
Picture This festival is run by Leonard Cheshire Disability, a charity based in the UK and active around the world, tasked with supporting disabled people to fulfill their potential and help them live the lives of their choosing.
