Three young painters will present their reflections on wars and their social impacts at an upcoming exhibition in Tehran. Works by Maliheh Rostami, Saray Magroon and Hengameh Najjarbashi known as ‘Cold Shadow,’ will go on show on Friday at Persian Idea Gallery, Honaronline reported. “The world is full of losses, hopelessness, disappointments and unfulfilled wishes. One can never forget the faces of old and young soldiers who laid down their lives in the war and never returned home. The legacy of war is nothing but the unhealed wounds that never cease to torment those who survived,” says part of a statement written by the organizers. Cold Shadow will run through February 7. The paintings are to “remind us of the departed ones and their everyday stories.” With their paintings, the artists seek to portray a difficult era that left people with wounds and scars. They have depicted moments when wishes die and an undesirable state of living is imposed. The gallery is located at No. 28, Allahverdi-Azar Alley, Dowlat Street, Shariati Street.
