Beyzaei’s Facing Mirrors Published

The screenplay ‘Facing Mirrors’ written by critically acclaimed filmmaker, playwright and theater director Bahram Beyzaei has been reprinted and released by Roshangaran Publications.

Written in 1981 and published in 1983, the story of this never-pictured screenplay revolves around a series of events contemporaneous with the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran. The script is Beyzai’s attempt to explain what led to the upheaval that overthrew the monarchy, ISNA reported.

Beyzaei, 78, has authored over 70 books in Persian, including plays and screenplays, history and research works, as well as interviews and stories.

By late 1961 he had already published numerous articles in various arts and literary journals. In the next years of his life throughout to late 1960s, Beyzai dedicated himself to writing in various publications about Eastern art and Persian literature enabled through his extensive study.

It is during this period that he wrote popular plays which are often regarded as masterpieces; ‘Facing Mirrors’ is believed to be his most romantic work.
