The second biennial on cave photos will be held in February, with four Iranian and one Frenchman comprising the jury.

The biennial will be held in two sections: the main part will have various themes like introducing caves and their interior spaces such as entrances, corridors, and cavities; the other part will deal with ecosystems and the environmental threats and pollutions they are faced with as well as pictures of cavers while navigating caves, reported IRNA.

Additionally, the subsidiary section will showcase pictures with a look at the 70-year history of caving in the country.

Iranians Mohammad-Ebrahim Safi, Namvar Abbasian, Naser Mizbani, and Behzad Torkizade and French Philippe Crochet are the jury members.

Crochet is a professional cave photographer and founder of a cave club. He has a PhD in Hydrology from the French University of Montpellier and has photographed caves in many parts of the world.

Safi, a graduate in photography has various national records. Abbasian, an author of several photography books, has won numerous local and international photography prizes.

Mizbani is a UNESCO nominated photographer of the year 2002, and works as a cultural heritage photographer. Torkizade is one of the few under-water photographers and cameramen. He had worked with the European Underwater Images Festivals Association (EUIFA) previously. He has also received 25 international prizes for underwater filming and photography.
