A sound performance by German musician Rhauder (Marco Rhauderwiek) is slated for February 1 at Rooberoo Mansion in Tehran.

Rhauder is one of the most talented musicians and producers based in Berlin. His style is a mixture of dub techno and Detroit techno.

The event seeks to promote cultural exchange between Iranian music enthusiasts and musicians overseas, ISNA reported.

For the past 20 years, dub (a subgenre of reggae music) and techno have entered into a longstanding, affectionate relationship.

It is a reciprocal relationship that plays on the convergences and disparities between the warmth and humanity of dub, and techno’s precise, mechanistic iciness.

They have melted into one another as dub techno, says music critic Josh Baines, editor of Thump UK (Thump.vice.com), a channel for electronic music and culture.

Detroit techno was invented in the American city and its suburbs in the early 1980s by young African-Americans armed with drum machines, futurist ideals and a predilection for Kraftwerk, a German band formed in 1969 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider who are widely considered to be innovators and pioneers of electronic music, according to Npr.org.

The upcoming performance in Tehran is organized by the host venue Rooberoo Mansion located at No. 7, Kianpour Dd. End, northeast of Vali-e-Asr Ave. and Enqelab St. intersection.

Tickets are available at Blito.ir.
