Photography exhibition ‘Water and Fire’ will be inaugurated on January 23 at Iran Photographers’ House in Tehran to commemorate the victims of Plasco Building inferno.

The 17-storey Plasco commercial tower, Iran’s oldest high-rise and an iconic structure in downtown Tehran, built in 1962, caught fire on January 19, 2017 and collapsed while firefighters were struggling to put out the blaze. In the incident, sparked by an electrical short circuit, 16 fire fighters and four civilians died.

A total of 70 photos captured by 14 press photographers will be on show. The photos illustrate the incident from the beginning up until  the burial ceremonies of the victims, Honaronline reported.

Amir Abshenasan, Vahid Khodadadi, Maryam Kamyab, Zeinab Mahdavi, Zahra Ramezani, Mehran Riazi and Mohsen Keramat are some of the participating photo journalists.
