The old neighborhood of Sangelaj in south Tehran and some famous houses across the city are on the itinerary of a program organized by Sarzamin-Sabz tour operator on Thursday.

In the first part of the tour, visits are limited to the exterior of the houses. Starting at 8:30 am near the subway station of Vali-e-Asr Square, the tourists will visit the houses of literary figures such as poet and journalist Ahmad Shamlou (1925-2000); scholar, literary researcher and poet Saeed Nafisi (1895-1966); and poet, scholar, historian and journalist Mohammad-Taqi Bahar (1886-1951).

It is a heavy itinerary even for culture enthusiasts. The journey will continue to the houses of some more highly revered cultural figures, namely writer and translator Sadeq Hedayat (1903-1951); novelist, short story writer and translator Jalal Al-Ahmad (1923-1969); poet Mehdi Akhavan-Saless (1929-1990); and writer and poet Mirzadeh Eshqi (1893-1924).

Visits to the interior of the structures are planned after lunch. Visitors will see inside the houses that once belonged to the scholar of Persian literature and Iranian studies Mohammad Moin (1914-1971) and poet, lyricist and journalist Mohammad-Ali Amir-Jahed (1896-1977).

Visitors will also take a walk inside the paternal house of accomplished nuclear physicist Mahmoud Hesabi (1903-1992). Since the group will go to Sangelaj district to see this last house, they will also visit other attractions of the old neighborhood.

The tour ends at about 4 pm. Tickets are available at
