Three short films made in Iran regarding environmental issues will be screened at the Green Image Film Festival in Japan, scheduled to be held March 23-25 at Hibiya Library & Museum Convention Hall in Tokyo.

The 3D animation ‘In the Crosshairs’ directed by Marzieh Kheirkhah, ‘The Fan’ by Fatemeh Sohani and ‘Ranger and the Panther’ by Fat’hollah Amiri are the three films, Mehr News Agency reported.

Produced by Sooreh University in Tehran, the 5-minute animation ‘In the Crosshairs’ uses sand technique in production.

It is about a soldier who finds a bird’s nest with an egg in his tank gun.

The Fan is an animated movie depicting a circular fan, which is threatened by new models in the market and afraid of being recycled.

In the documentary ‘Ranger and the Panther’ the camera follows a ranger who tries to find a panther reported to have been seen in the area under his charge although it is known as an extinct species.

All the three works have already won several awards at local and international festivals.

The Japanese event will show films from France, Italy, Taiwan, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, and Egypt among others.

Green Image Film Festival brings together some of the major films from around the globe with the main focus on environmental issues.
