In a trip to Varamin and Pishva counties, 40 km southeast of Tehran, participants will visit historical structures of adobe and brick also have a firsthand experience in making pottery as well as earthen sculptures.

The tour is organized by Sarzamin-Sabz tour operator on Thursday, from 8 am to 4 pm, Tiwall.com reported.

A potter and an archaeologist will attend the tour. On the itinerary are visits to a pottery-ceramics workshop and the historical attractions of the area, including Ala-ol-Dowleh Tower, the ancient hill of Pishva and the Iraj Citadel, a huge adobe fortress built during the Sassanid era (224-651 AD).

The archaeologist will talk about the region’s history from prehistoric times to the Elamite and Sassanid civilizations in the Rey plains.

At the workshop visitors can operate the potter’s wheel. They will be instructed on how to make earthen sculptures by hand and briefed on ceramic and pottery kilns and also on ceramic molds.
