A manuscript of poems by Indian poet Amir Khusrow Dehlavi will go under the hammer at the Auction House of Artcurial in Lyon, France, on January 10.

The manuscript is written in calligraphy. It has 343 sheets and 21 pages are covered with full-page miniatures.

Written in 1558 in Shiraz, the current capital city of Fars Province in Iran, the unique manuscript is estimated to fetch 20,000-40,000 euros ($24,000-48,000), Iranian Book News Agency reported.

Dehlavi (1253-1325) was a musician, poet and scholar from India. He was an iconic figure in the cultural history of the Indian subcontinent. He wrote poetry primarily in Persian, but also in Hindi and Urdu languages.

The book of collected poems consists of five chapters including all the poems Dehlavi had written since the age of 16.
