Veteran visual artist, painter and curator Fereydoun Ave, 72, has presented his latest installation art at Mohsen Gallery in Tehran.

Ave’s show, he calls ‘Tale’, is a simple but unpretentiously powerful work dealing with the concept of myth, according to the website of the venue, Mohsen.gallery.

Borrowing a quote from the American mythologist Joseph Campbell (1904-1987), a statement of the exhibit says: “It would not be too much to say that myth is the secret opening through which the inexhaustible energies of the universe pour into human cultural manifestations.”

Ave uses light and darkness to show how famous tales fascinate the modern world. Shadows of seven superheroes appear randomly on the walls while a mirrorball reflects sparkles of light to the dark corners of the gallery.

The gallery is located at No. 42, Mina Blvd., Farzan Street, Zafar Street.
