Fajr Film Festival Announces Competition Line-Up

Secretary of the 36th Fajr Film Festival Ebrahim Daroughezadeh on Sunday announced the line-up for the upcoming event.

According to the festival website, 25 movies will vie for the Crystal Simorgh (Iranian mythical bird) awards this year. The festival is slated for early February in Tehran.

The line-up comprises 22 feature films, two documentaries and one animation by well-known directors and newcomers.

Most of the entries are dramas (social and family) while there are also political, action, thriller, war and comedy films.

Among the competitors, the more notable ones include Ebrahim Hatamikia’s ‘In the Levant Time’, Kambuzia Partovi’s ‘Truck’ and Hamid Nematollah’s ‘Ablaze’, as well as ‘Lottery’ by Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian, ‘Bomb’ by Peyman Moadi, ‘Istanbul Junction’ by Mostafa Kiaei and ‘Rusty Little Brains’ by Houman Seyyedi.
