Olympus Global Photo Contest has said on its website that it is open for submissions for its 2018 edition through February 26.
The Japanese contest is open to photos captured with any kind of camera by both amateur and professional photographers. It will be accepting works in six different categories, namely getting outside, art, light, power of life, stories and connections to cherish.
According to the event website gopc.olympus-global.com, the getting outside section will be accepting photos that convey the joy, freedom or excitement of discovery felt when in the open area, and art section is dedicated to photos that showcase unique artistic visions.
For power of life, the photos should depict how beautiful, vibrant, healthy and full of energy life can be, and for light section the photos need to show one of the many characters of light.
If a photo can tell a whole story in a single image, it would be accepted for the stories section.
And for the category of connections to cherish, the work should be a heart-warming photo that expresses the love and peace of mind that family and friends provide.
The competition is organized by the Olympus Corporation, a manufacturer of optics and reprography products based in Tokyo.
