The House of Poets in Tehran has opened a new gallery on its premises that is showing a group painting exhibition to support young artists. The exhibition-cum-sale will run through the winter.

According to the venue manager, Kamaloddin Qotb, 22 artists are showcasing their paintings. “Each painter is attending the event with at least three works, with the highest price at 8 million rials ($190),” Honaronline quoted Qotb as saying.

Ali Alizadeh, Nahid Amiri-Siavashani, Sediqeh Saafi, Mina Akhavan, Mehrdad Alizadeh, Shohreh Khademi, Mahnaz Vaziri, Hadis Rezaei, Mahnaz Mehraban and Parviz Heidarzadeh are among the painters  whose works are on display. Earlier the gallery mounted a calligraphy show in collaboration with the Iranian Society of Calligraphers to support the quake-stricken people of Kermanshah Province, which was welcomed by the art community. On November 12, a 7.3 earthquake jolted western Iran and the regions bordering Iraq, claiming over 500 lives, injuring more than 10,000 and leaving thousands homeless.  The venue is located at the corner of Kolahdouz and Shahid-Nemati streets in northern Tehran.
