13 Short Films for Norway Festival

The 30th Minimalen Short Film Festival of Norway, slated for January 23-28, is to dedicate a special program for screening Iranian short films.

Based in Trondheim in central Norway, Minimalen is an annual, independent short film event that was set up in 1988. It covers new productions from Norway, Scandinavia and the rest of the world, as well as special focus programs and retrospectives.

Named ‘Iran Today’, this year’s focus program will show 13 short films by Iranian filmmakers, ISNA reported.

The short films to be screened at the event include ‘Highlight’ by Shahrzad Dadgar, ‘Icky’ (name of the leading character) by Parastou Kardgar, ‘Retouch’ by Kaveh Mazaheri,  ‘Numbness’ Milad Jarmooz, ‘Third Gender’ Forough Rezaei, ‘Animal’ by Bahman and Bahram Ark, ‘Sales Ad’ by Qasideh Golmakani, , ‘Not Yet’ Arian Vazir Daftari, ‘Lunch Time’ Alireza Qasemi, ‘The Drive’ Tanin Torabi, ‘Personal’ Sonia Hadadi, ‘Bystander’ Mohsen Baqeri-Dastgerdi and ‘Gaze’ by Farnoush Samadi.

Three of the films, namely ‘Retouch’, ‘Gaze’, and ‘Animal’ will compete in the international section of the festival.
