Wake Up Call

Selected cinemas are screening Kianoush Ayyari’s ‘Wake Up, Arezou’.
The story is about the tragic state of quake-stricken people in Bam, Kerman Province, after the catastrophic 6.3 magnitude quake rocked the ancient city in 2013. More than 27,000 people died in the killer quake and entire lives were shattered in matter of few seconds.
“I made the film with the intention of drawing attention of officials, particularly those accountable for the thousands of lives consumed by the quake,” Aecinema.ir reported. “I wanted to wake them up.”
Behnaz Jafari, Mehran Rajabi, Mehdi Jafari, Mohammad-Hossein Akbari, Ehsan Rezvani, Sahar Salari and Zeinab Zamani are in the cast.
Farhang Cinema, Iranian Artists Forum, Cinema Museum as well as Kourosh and Charsou cineplexes are showing the film.
