Modern Persian poet Forough Farrokhzad (1935-67) is the subject of an upcoming tour planned by Zhiwaar Travel Institute on Dec. 28.

The tour starts at 9 a.m. in Vali-e-Asr Square and features a series of places across Tehran. It seeks to present a review of Farrokhzad’s life and provide an understanding of her poems ‘The Rebellion’ and ‘Another Birth.’

The itinerary includes the poet’s paternal house in Amirieh neighborhood and her high school. Visitors will pass by the remains of her house in Darrous neighborhood. They will also see the place where she died in a car crash, as she avoided hitting a vehicle carrying schoolchildren.

When in Darrous, the group will visit an old, well-known studio once run by filmmaker, story writer, journalist, translator and photographer, Ebrahim Golestan, 95, who had close collaborations with Farrokhzad. His house and Golestan Art Gallery, now run by his daughter Lili, are also included in the tour.
