Form vs. Content

Calligraphic paintings by Ali Azad are on show at Shalman Art Gallery from December 22-27. It is a series of works focusing more on form and composition than on the meaning of words, Tiwall.com reported.
“This exhibition is form-oriented,” reads a note on the exhibit. The statement refers to the argument made by German philosopher and sociologist Theodor W. Adorno (1903-1969) that form has considerable significance of its own which is independent from content.
Sometimes “it does not matter what is written, but how it is written,” the note continues.
Shalman Gallery is located at No. 27, Kavousi Alley, Roudbar Street, southwest of Mirdamad-Shariati intersection.
