Hozeh-Honari (Art Bureau) in Tehran held a workshop on illustrated books in the presence of Italian illustrator Philip Giordano on December 14.

At the event named ‘A Simple Narrative of Complicated Illustrations’, the Italian artist explained the use of colors in children’s works by referring to his own books and illustrations. It was organized by Iran Cultural Fairs Institutes (ICFI) and Soureh-Mehr Publication, the institute website Icfi.ir wrote. The Tokyo-based illustrator was born in a small coastal town in Liguria, Italy, to a Filipino mother and a Swiss father. He studied illustration at the IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) and subsequently took a master’s degree in animation techniques in Turin, northern Italy.

He currently illustrates for children’s books and magazines, designs book covers and toys and works in the field of animation. His illustrated books have been translated into many languages, including Japanese, French, English, Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese.
