‘The Home’ to Open Asiatica Film Festival in Rome

Iranian film in Turkish language ‘The Home’ written, directed and produced by Asghar Yousefinejad will be screened at the Asiatica Film Festival, in Italy.

According to the website asiaticafilmfestival.com, the festival will take place in Cinema 4 Fontane in Rome from December 17-20. The Home has been selected as the opening film of the event.

It has received critical acclaim from both critics and cinema fans in and outside Iran. It won the Golden Simorgh award for best film at the 35th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran. The Home also competed in renowned festivals such as the Tokyo International Film Festival and Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.

The movie is the story of a girl named Sayeh who has not been in contact with her family since her marriage six years ago. But when her father dies, she comes back home only to find out that his body has to be sent for an autopsy as per his will. Sayeh is against the autopsy.

Asiatica Film Festival combines films and music from the Asian world, promoting and supporting the diffusion of Asian cultural expressions in Rome. Every year it presents about 50 productions, including feature films and documentaries, boosting the knowledge of realities in Asia.
