Artworks of four Iranian veteran artists will be on display at Persian Idea Art Gallery under the title ‘Iran Contemporary Masters’. Farideh Lashai, Mahmoud Zangeneh, Manouchehr Niazi and Abolqasem Saeedi are the artists whose works will be showcased on Dec. 15, Mehr News Agency reported. Lashai (1944-2013) was a successful Iranian artist, writer and translator, best known for her abstract paintings. She reached eminence for her lyrical abstract paintings and multimedia installations that combined video projections and canvas works. She was influenced and inspired not only by personal experience, natural world and the rich artistic history of Persian art, but also by western artists of the modernist period. Zangeneh (1932-2011) was a self-taught painter and sculptor from a village in Hamedan Province. He was known as the villager painter as his works mostly dealt with the rural areas and relevant issues. Works of painter Niazi, 81, often reflect his concerns about environmental degradation. So far, he has held many solo and group exhibits in and outside the country. Paris-based painter Saeedi, 91, is among the pioneers of modernist paintings.   The gallery is located at No. 28, Allah Verdy Azar Alley, Kolahdooz St., Shariati Street.
