Pop singer Behnam Bani is to release his first official album titled ‘She’s Made Me Fall in Love’ in late winter, said his manager Mohammad Hatampour.
Bani’s four new single tracks recently got permit from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. “Based on the schedule, the new tracks with several already (online) released pieces are being put together in his first album and will be published in the Iranian month of Esfand (February 20 to March 20, 2018),” Azad News Agency (ANA) quoted Hatampour as saying.
Hamed Baradaran, the album’s artistic manager is in charge of composition and arrangement of song tracks.
Pointing to the recent changes in what audiences prefer and the music market, Hatampour said, “It has become a norm for the public to be presented with at least 30 new tracks (by various singers) a day (released in cyber space). So (most) people will not look forward to buying a new album.”
According to the manager, the traditional way of releasing music albums now belongs to the past because it hardly takes any time for people to access the tracks from online sources for free.
For instance, he said, there is one instance in which a singer had published 300,000 copies of his album, but each of his tracks were downloaded over 500,000 times from online sources in less than 24 hours.
This is while only 140,000 copies were actually sold in CD format in the market. “The end result is considerable financial loss.”
Bani has held concerts in Ilam, West Azarbaijan, Tehran and Isfahan provinces. He is currently performing in Ahvaz and will continue his tour to Tabriz, Shiraz, Bandar Abbas and Sanandaj before his concert tour in Europe sometime in March.
Regarding the Europe tour, Hatampour said, “From among the eight planned cities, the programs in Frankfort, Hamburg, and Cologne have been confirmed. Amsterdam, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Brussels are still being negotiated.”
