Cartoon Biennial

The 11th edition of Tehran International Cartoon Biennial is underway at Saba Cultural Institute, affiliated to the Iranian Academy of the Arts, with 730 works on show.

The event includes 498 works created by Iranian cartoonists and those from 73 countries. Works are sorted out in three categories, namely safety and security; caricature of well-known figures like athletes, politicians, actors and actresses; and one subject-free section, ISNA reported.

The biennial is organized jointly by the Visual Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the Institute for Promotion of Contemporary Visual Art affiliated to Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.

Saba Cultural Institute is located on the southwestern corner of Vali-e-Asr and Taleqani intersection. The closing ceremony of the biennial will be held on December 15.
