Samadi Joins Italian Film Festival Jury

Award-wining Iranian screenwriter and filmmaker Farnoush Samadi is among the jury of the 24th Archipelago International Festival of Short Film and New Images in Italy.

The festival is one of the oldest and most important short film festivals in Italy which takes place in Rome, December 4-10, ILNA reported.

As a member of the international jury panel, Samadi will judge 22 films in the international section along with Elena Cotta, Italian actress who won the award for best actress in 2013 Venice Film Festival, and Morgan Simon, young French filmmaker who took the New Directors Award at the Saint Sebastian Film Festival, Spain, in 2016.

Samadi’s latest work, the short film ‘Gaze’ premiered this summer in the 70th Lorcano Festival in Italy. The film won the Grand Jury Award for best live action short film in the 31st American Film Institute Festival in November.

Samadi is a graduate from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome. So far, she has co-written four short films with Ali Asgari including ‘The Silence’ which premiered in Cannes in 2016 and has won several international awards, namely  at the Sydney Flickerfest 2017 and the Berlin International Short Film Festival 2016.
