Embassy of Japan in Tehran is holding the ‘Japan Cultural Month’ at Arasbaran Cultural Center.

According to the website of the embassy, the program began on December 2.

Organizers seek to introduce the East Asian country’s culture to the Iranian audience by holding Japanese tea ceremony, origami workshops along with the exhibition of Japanese drawings and photos of tourist attractions in Japan.  The tea ceremony, also known as the ‘Way of Tea’, is seen as a Japanese cultural activity that includes ceremonial preparation and presentation of ‘matcha’, powdered green tea.

As part of the program, female Japanese pianist Aki Kuroda will perform live in early January. The exact date for the performance is not yet announced.

Kuroda completed her studies at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts, and improved her skill under the Italian pianist Bruno Mezzena. She has given many concerts in and outside the country.

Tehran’s Arasbaran Cultural Center is located at Jolfa St. north of Seyyed-Khandan Bridge, Shariati Ave.
