Guitarist and singer Farman Fat’halian together with his band ‘Ilia’ will give a concert in Tehran after three years.

Milad Tower International Convention Center will host the performance slated for Dec. 11 at 9:30 pm, Young Journalists Club (YJC) reported.

The 3-year absence of the band was due to preoccupations including work on their latest album Dide-ye Bidar (Wakeful Eye) and illness followed by death in May 2016 of Fat’halian’s friend Shahrokh Pourmayamin, 46, a proficient electric guitarist who had a brain tumor.

“Whenever we gather for rehearsals, we miss him and are saddened,” Fat’halian said.

As composer and music arranger, Pourmayamin collaborated with the band in production of their last album Wakeful Eye. In next week’s concert, the pieces from the album will be performed live for the first time.

The album was released online in September 2016. On the concert night it is planned to be released in CD format. Film director and screenwriter Sirus Alvand, 66, has written the lyrics.

Fat’halian, 46, will also sing some memorable songs from his previous albums including Baba Heydar, Naji (savior), Moqim (resident) and Solh-e Abadi (eternal peace).

Milad Tower is located between four expressways Hemmat, Chamran, Hakim and Sheikh-Fazlollah. Tickets are available at Iranconcert.com.
